Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California is a beautiful place to hike, especially during the colder months, between late October to May. There are treks for all levels. Many of the mines are still accessible on foot. Here are 8 short hikes in Joshua Tree that will satisfy any walker. Particularly if you are short on time, or want a quick getaway.

1.3-mile loop trail – easy hike

Composed of a soft sandy wash, some rock steps. Once you reach the dam itself, you walk across smooth boulders.

0.25-easy loop hike.

This is the easiest of the 8 short hikes in Joshua Tree. The trail consists of hard surfaces and some boardwalk. Beware of the teddybear cactus. Its spikes are dangerous.

3-mile out and back hike

As you walk along the sandy wash, you will pass the ruins of Wonderland Ranch on the left. To the right is the windmill. Continue until you reach Wall Street Mill. The best-preserved stamp mill in Joshua Tree.
